Your Weekly Outlook from AccuWeather.com.At Ambient, we're all about information — so the new Cirrus 7-Day Forecaster is designed from the ground up to deliver weather information you can take action on. Unlike weather stations that rely on local sensors or PC connections, Cirrus automatically provides real forecast data from AccuWeather.com throughout the day so it's ready when you are. Detailed icons indicate conditions such as "light rain" and "heavy snow" and a text description provides additional information, such as "clouds giving way to sun" or "chance of afternoon showers". With just a glance, you'll know when take an umbrella or to pack an extra sweater. Cirrus also provides the current UV index, plus wind speed and direction. This is great information for golfers, sailors, and anyone who spends time outdoors. And Cirrus delivers alerts for high pollen and low air quality, which can be particularly useful for allergy and asthma sufferers. Over 95% of U.S. households are within a 30-mile radius of at least one of the 152 U.S. forecast locations provided by Cirrus. You can check any location anytime, just turn the new scroll wheel. And set-up couldn't be easier - Just plug it in and receive data from AccuWeather in minutes. You never need to connect to a PC, wait for a download, or pay for access to multiple locations with Ambient. We've also added a "favorites" button so up to 5 locations can be programmed for instant access — and there's no need to input a zip code or scroll through a long list. The favorites feature is as easy to use as the push-button presets on a car radio... (you know, back when car radios were easy to use). Cirrus introduces a progressive new design that is optimized for the desktop. The display features adjustable brightness, and the integrated kickstand allows for a wide range of viewing angles — try it at home or at work, on the kitchen counter or on your desk. We've also included a clock that uses network time and never needs setting — it even adjusts for daylight savings time. Finally, the scroll wheel is also a color-changing element — colors are mapped to temperature, where "blue" = cold and "red" = hot with a natural spectrum of colors in between. This feature makes it easy to spot a surprise jump or dip in temperature that you might otherwise miss. Plus, it just looks cool. The result is that Cirrus is faster and easier to use than radio, TV, or any Internet-based options. You will be amazed at how quickly you come to depend on Cirrus. Check forecast locations here.
